April details solution TO STOP loss of annual $240 Million for taxpayers
From over three decades in Film and TV, April was too aware that an absent Film Industry in Florida was causing a massive loss of opportunities—from departing local talent to untapped GDP and higher paying jobs.
To bring awareness and change to this issue, she created and self-funded the American Initiative for Film Industry (AiFi)—whose 5 Acts, backed by research, detail the “how” of resurrecting the state film industry.

Her Checkoff BOX for fallen veterans gets introduced to the White house
April’s idea for “The Military Check-off Box for Vets”—an optional check-off box on all federal tax returns for donations to fallen and wounded veterans and their families—was simple, yet potentially greatly impactful.
After receiving first-of-its-kind public support for it, April self-funded a lobbying campaign that involved drafting of legislation that was sponsored by senators—and introduced to the Whitehouse in 2019.
